Women in tech—and finding ways to diversify the industry—have long been topics of discussion for leaders around the world. However, according to a recent survey, only 26% of those in the UK tech workforce are women. Though it is a known challenge, there's still work to be done to further increase diversity in the industry.

That's why we couldn't be more excited to announce in time for International Women's Day 2023 that we have partnered with InnovateHer, a movement dedicated to giving girls aged 13-17 the self-belief and skills needed to pursue a career in technology.

InnovateHer's mission is to increase gender equity, improve digital skills, and invest in the future of our young people—because everyone, regardless of background or identity, should have the freedom and opportunity to pursue any future they choose.

1E's Women Employee Resource Group (ERG) forged the partnership. This is a voluntary employee-led group whose focus is to foster workplace diversity and enhance employee experience. It also provides resources to help propel employees' career paths in the technology sector. The partnership with InnovateHer will provide 1E employees with access to learning, community, and networking events with other organizations, as well as monthly diversity, equity, and inclusion insights. It'll also enable the 1E Women ERG to become ambassadors to actively help and support school outreach programs in the United Kingdom.

"InnovateHer's mission and vision is incredibly inspiring, and aligns with our values here at 1E," said Mark Banfield, CEO of 1E. "We are honored to announce this meaningful partnership. We look forward to the progress we will make alongside InnovateHer to not only help increase diversity in the tech industry, but support young talent and the development of their digital skills."

"As CEO, I am incredibly proud and excited to announce InnovateHer's partnership with 1E," said Chelsea Slater, CEO of InnovateHer. "This partnership marks a significant milestone for our organizations, and I am thrilled to see it come to fruition. I look forward to engaging with colleagues at 1E through our mission to get girls ready for the tech industry and the tech industry ready for girls."

The partnership will begin on April 1, 2023. Click here if you'd like to learn more about InnovateHer!
