Operating models for end-user services frequently fail to support new working methods and enhance the digital employee experience. Gartner has published advice for leaders in end-user services to help them transition to a digital workplace model. Read on to keep up with rising business demands while prioritizing user experience!

Below are the key findings from the Gartner report:

  • “End-user services leaders are responding to rapid technology cycles, embracing and increasing employee demand, made more difficult due to siloed organization structures.
  • Traditional staffing and organization approaches over index on technical skills and fail to address new capabilities, competencies and responsibilities required for the digital workplace (DW), increasing attrition rates as existing staff members are unclear of long-term career opportunities.
  • Immature end-user services structures hamper new technology adoption, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot. This typically stems from ineffective or nonexistent collaboration with key IT, business and vendor stakeholders.”
